Executive Director



The IVMA of BC is currently requesting proposals for the job of Executive Director.

The IVMA of BC is a valued non-profit Association representing the interests of vegetation management providers, suppliers, regulators and most importantly the end users of vegetation management services within the Province of BC.  Members include representatives from electric utilities, petroleum transportation and production companies, railways, highway and road authorities, forestry companies, urban and rural municipalities, service contractors, product suppliers, regulatory authorities and educational institutions as well as others who are affiliated with or have an interest in the furtherance of professional integrated vegetation management within the province.

Founded in 1984, the Association is comprised of approximately 100 Members and is mandated to engage with the regulatory authorities who govern industry operations, provide training opportunities and professional development forums for Members and industry participants, and to manage an optional continuing education credit (CEC) program for the recertification of pesticide applicators. The Association will undertake other projects from time to time on an ad hoc basis.

The IVMA of BC is considered the voice of the industry to provincial and federal regulators and undertakes opportunities to provide input and guidance to the regulatory process, and to keep Members apprised of regulatory changes and challenges.

The IVMA of BC supports the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and promotes science based IVM practices. Through media, the Association will provide the public with the best science based information on all methods of vegetation management and to foster best practices in industry.

Please provide your resume and a covering letter stating remuneration expected and describe how you can fulfill the job requirements which includes a general management strategy for the Association, administrative time management and efficiencies, an Association funding strategy, and any other information you feel is relevant to your application.

This is a contract position. The successful candidate will be required to provide all equipment (vehicle, computer, office space, etc.) and associated supports (WorkSafe, insurances as required) to be able to carry out job duties. This role is supported by a budget that ranges from $15,000 to $30,000 annually.
